"Take time. Give God time to reveal Himself to you. Give yourself time to be silent and quiet before Him, waiting to receive, through the Spirit, the assurance of His presence with you, His power working in you. Take time to read His Word as in his presence, that from it you may know what he asks of you and what he promises you. Let the Word create around you, create within you a holy atmosphere, a holy heavenly light, in which your soul will be refreshed and strengthened for the work of daily life."
Prayer:
Lord God, help me to take time to seek your face, to wait upon your spirit to reveal You to me so that I may delight and depend on you in each day and each season. Father, thank you that in Christ, I can enter your presence with confidence. Help me to be disciplined to study your Word daily as in your presence, so that I may know what You ask of me and what You promise. I pray there will be times I can read widely and times when I can study deeply. May your spirit bless my soul with old truths and new and help me continuously to apply what I learn. May your Word create around me and within me a holy atmosphere, a holy heavenly light, in which my soul will be refreshed and strengthened for the work of daily life. In the name of Christ, amen.
